I was born in Vinnitsa, Ukraine and immigrated with my immediate family to the United States in 1997 at the age of fifteen. I attended the School of Art at the University of Arizona in Tucson and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Combined Media (photography and illustration) in 2002. In 2003, I moved to New York City to continue my education, and recently graduated with a Master's degree in photography from the School of Visual Arts. Currently I am pursuing a career in both art and commercial photography in NYC.
The main theme in my artwork is a humorous exploration of the anxieties and conflicts of my immigrant experience, nostalgia and a search for balance between my native Ukrainian culture and my modern life in America, memories and everyday experiences.
